What is Childrens University?

Children’s University is a charity that works in partnership with schools to develop a love of learning in children.

We do this by encouraging and celebrating participation in extra-curricular activities in and outside of school.

The impact of these activities is proven to be positive which is why we’re committed to creating a level playing field of opportunity and opening up access to children of all backgrounds.

The Children's University (CU) Trust is a charitable trust that connects and provides children from 5 to 14 years old and up to 25 for those children with SEND, with exciting and innovative learning activities and experiences outside normal school hours.

What we want for every Child...

  • We want every child that takes part in Children’s University to feel that learning can be fun, aspirational, and lifelong
  • They have enjoyed a range of new learning experiences and are motivated to keep learning in different ways
  • They have grown in confidence and self-belief
  • They have a broader range of essential skills in line with the Skills Builder Framework
  • They are empowered to make positive choices about their future
  • They can better cope with the challenges that life throws at them
  • They are celebrated for their commitment to learning by their family, school, and community.

How does it work?

Children can collect hours at any activities or clubs they do at school, as well as collecting hours for clubs they go to outside of school, and lots of other fun places too!

Most CU Learning Destinations display our Learning Destination logo or stamp code poster.

How am I rewarded?

  • Receive a BRONZE certificate when children have collected 30 hours in their Passport to Learning.
  • The next one will be a SILVER certificate for 65 hours.
  • Then a GOLD certificate for 100 hours.
  • Thereafter, children will then get certificates at every stage of 30, 65 and 100 hours after that, all the way up to 1,000 hours!

Graduation!

Children only need to collect 30 hours on their dashboard to be invited to our Children’s University Graduation!
